people, places, and things

Sun Sep 2, 2007, 8:03 PM
Ok, so I've been in college for a week and a half now and things are going great! I got here not knowing anyone, and now I know SO many awesome people who don't think I'm lame or anything. It's sweet.

Although I decided not to go home this long weekend, because it was too soon, Sarah came from NIU and visited me!! It was great fun. Exploring downtown, eating in Greektown, and going to Navy Pier... it's like being on vaca.

My classes are going well. Let's see, my math professor has a really heavy accent so I have to REALLY listen to understand what he's saying... which will take some practice... but as for now, the material is easy anyway. My outrageous English teacher runs into class all hyped up on coffee, an energy that makes the class pretty fun. I'm in an honors core class called Good and Evil that is insanely interesting. I always look forward to it and I've already learned so much about perceptions of other people, and my own beliefs about the matter. and then there's arch 105. My first Architecture class on Tuesday seemed so scary and intimidating and long (1:00 - 4:50!!) ..but on Thursday we were assigned to complete 8-10 sketches of stuff on east campus, and I have to admit, I love drawing for homework. I get to find a shady spot and sit and draw for a few hours without feeling like I'm wasting time! yay! Anyway, I'll probably be loading them onto dA soon, just a warning.

So, life is good. The city is fun. The food is tasty. The adventures are plentiful. And the company, second ONLY to my friends and family back home.

Hope everyone is having the same luck.

An actual class called "Good and Evil"?
Oh man, is that some kind of super-religious Jesus class?

Wow! I'm very happy for you. College is simply amazing. Everyonce in a while iw will get a little crazy, but that's why you have friends.

Just study hard, and listen to the Math Teacher as Hard as you can, just. . .not too hard or else you'll get a headache.

Enjoy it. It's A really fun time.

That's great that you're having an awesome time at college! =D

I did too... for the first few months. Then second semester rolled around, and I'm like "SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY! I'm trying to bloody study!" (Oh, that rhymed... hehe) But yea, it's still tolerable. I can hardly wait to move out with my mates though. Hehe. xP

So don't act like you do.
Don't ask me either,
'Cause I too don't have a clue.

Hahahaha, I laughed out loud reading this. The people on my floor are REALLY loud and obnoxious, but so far, that doesn't bother me. Anyway, we have lounges to study in. yay! but yeahhh good times so far

oh no. It's mostly based on Literature and if it can shed some kind of light on human behavior, social issues, art, psychology, etc. Lots of discussions!! It's great fun thus far. But I have a feeling it'll get more difficult...

Hey thanks for the best wishes. I'll probably start listening to Mr Math guy eventually, when the homework gets harder... as for now, doodling in my notebook seems to pass the time very nicely =P

And yes, yes, Garden State is one of the best movies ever.

Oh... that's good. We've got a library to study in, but I hardly ever use it. :paranoid: I can't study with people around. Heh. And yea, last night, (Sunday night), I was trying to study, and this huge group of people was in the room two doors away. And they were watching this movie and it was seriously blasting! Like I could hear every bit. And it was a scary movie, so people were screaming, and the music was just... horrid. :paranoid: I hate music from horror movies. Yea. Lol. Had a little bitch about it with my friend because both of us were so annoyed. Lol. Ah well. And the other day, they were slamming doors at like 12am. :paranoid: When they do that, my windows and my door rattle, so it's really really irritating, especially when you're trying to sleep. Lol. Ah well.

Dude! That sounds awsome! Your classes and teachers sound awsome! I just hope my college classes are fun when I get to them.

Oh, and by NIU, do you mean Northern Illinois University?
